It was adapted into an Anime series in 1991. In 1991 NHK produced an anime series, made of 39 episodes. manga was first published in Japan in 1975 by Shueisha, then republished by Choukoro-sha in a single volume, and its quite difficult to find today. Written in 1973 and published in Shueishas Margaret, it is one of the earliest examples of the genre, and seems to have had a considerable effect on the series that came after it.
